Lessons on Flying High

My lessons on release, the subject of letting go are best related to traveling.  It is not possible to have total control when you travel- especially when you fly. Each minute as you make your way to your destination, there are thousands of situations happening all around. It is inevitable that your plan could change at any moment, determined and affected by actions of those we meet along the way.

When you try to control your travel plans, as in life, the tendency to be disappointed is all too real. But when we find the balance between taking actions to “get there” and  surrendering to the flow, then we arrive EXACTLY when and where we are supposed to be. Well that is the theory, that could go wrong?

The problem is not in our intentions, we all have the right to want things to go our way, it lies in the weight and attachment we put on the outcome. Could we accept that we do not always know what is best for us, what the next step is that we should take? And can we put trust that every disappointment could be a blessing in disguise?

These truths shine the brightest when we can:

1. Surrender. Each moment you are exactly where you are supposed to be, learning, growing and joyfully living.

2. Let Go. When things do not go your way, say “plot change” and keep moving forward.

3. Have Faith. Always expect (trust) that something wonderful is about to happen. It is all about your mindset, don’t let one dark cloud change your view of the infinite sky of beauty.

PQ.  What are you holding on to that you know you need to let go?
