On Reigniting

The fire triangle, or what a fire needs to burn is heat, fuel and oxygen.

You take a piece of wood, the fuel, apply friction, the heat, and you get a little ember. By adding oxygen, blowing on the ember, you can create a flame.

Often a fire will burn itself out. The ashes and soot produced by the fire will cover the fuel, reduce the heat and a lack of oxygen will cause the flame to dwindle. By breathing on the remnants of the red glowing ember you can clear the bits of ashes and reignite the flame.

Like the fire in the belly you need the fuel, a dream or a goal or an intention. You need the heat, the drive, the motivation the desire. You need the oxygen. A deep inhale to stoke the flame and a strong exhale to get rid of the smoke and toxins.

Sometimes that fire will slowly extinguish itself.

Often a small ember is left in the belly.  And like a great fire all it needs is just a bit of oxygen.

Take a moment and just breathe. A small pause, a small breath can reignite that dream and give it the potential to become the inferno.
